I just finished up this top. It's a sample for The Quilt Tree. This is a photo of part of it - it's a big one! I love the low contrast in the sky.
It has turn-under appliqué. I don't do appliqué often but when I do......the hover feature on my Bernina 820 is a great feature. It can be set so that when you stop sewing the needle stays down, but the foot raises just a bit so you can pivot the fabric. Here is a photo of the setting I like to use on my machine. Give it a try if you have this feature!
